GUWAHATI: The Assam government has taken up the initiative to distribute relief materials for the next 7 days to the daily wage earners stranded in the urban areas.
Assam chief secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna directed the deputy commissioners of the State to issue living in gratuitous relief materials to the daily wage earners- rickshaw pullers, laborers as per the norms of Assam Relief Manuals.
It is to be mentioned that the daily wage earners are facing a harrowing time after the entire country went under the lock-down from March 25.
