Assam Govt to Give Rs 25,000 to Patients Stranded Outside Assam

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday, April 12, said that those patients from Assam who are stranded in other states and who are fending for themselves, the government has taken steps to transfer Rs. 25,000 to each of the beneficiaries' accounts to ensure a secure environment for them. 

He was chairing an all-party meet on April 12 and invited suggestions from leaders of different political parties to contain and control COVID 19 in the state.  

Leaders from Congress, AGP, AIUDF, BPF, CPI, CPI(M) and other parties took part in the meeting and gave suggestions to battle coronavirus in Assam. 

Sonowal also asked leaders to maintain constant vigil in every constituency and bring to government's notice anybody who is left out of the government's help as the district administration has been directed to serve the unserved especially during the lockdown period. 

The CM informed in the meeting that government is implementing its schemes resolutely including transfer of financial benefits to bank accounts of the beneficiaries for their subsistence. 

He added that different government agencies are working to sustain the supply chain in the state. 

Sonowal also thanked the leaders of the all-party meeting for mooting an idea of thanking all the frontline personnel including doctors, to safai karmis, ASHA workers, and ambulance drivers for putting in their best services in the light against COVID-19 and work on the medical response for mitigation.
