State Govt Considering Easing Lockdown from Apr 1

GUWAHATI: Assam government is taking measures to ease the lockdown norms from April 1.

According to reports, the state government has allowed plucking of green tea leaves from April 1 and production units of rice and flour mills will resume activities.

It is to be mentioned that sectors like Tea Industry was shut down after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced lockdown which halted normal plucking activities in the tea gardens in the ongoing peak plucking season.

In a statement, the state government said that trucks carrying essential items will be allowed to ply from April 1.
