This was announced in the state budget for 2025-26 presented by Finance Minister Ajanta Neog on Monday, March 10.

Neog said that the targeted subsidy, amounting to ₹300 crore for the financial year, aims to ease the financial burden on households consuming up to 120 units per month. This move covers a significant portion of Assam’s total 68 lakh electricity consumers, ensuring affordable and reliable power for lower and middle-income families.
