GUWAHATI: The Assam government has announced plans to develop new industrial parks across multiple cities to support industrialisation under the Advantage Assam 2.0 initiative. The parks, which will be equipped with plug-and-play infrastructure, have been initiated to boost investment and industrial growth in the state.
Finance Minister Ajanta Neog, while presenting the State Budget 2025-26 on Monday, March 10, stated that Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Silchar, Jagiroad, Palashbari, Tezpur, and Nalbari have been identified as locations for these parks, subject to land availability. A ₹500 crore investment will be made in a phased manner to develop these industrial hubs.
Alongside industrial expansion, the government is also planning large-scale township projects in Jagiroad and Palashbari with assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). A ₹8,000 crore project is in the pipeline to develop modern residential and commercial townships.
