The decision has been taken to make the agricultural sector attractive to the youths of Assam whereby it will create employment for the millions who have been rendered unemployed by the COVID pandemic.

"Zubeen Garg, along with his wife Garima Saikia Garg and a few colleagues, has been involved in the sector privately since 2018. They now wish to extend this to the people to support their financial needs," added Bora.

Garg wishes to bring a green revolution in the state and sought government help for the project.

The Assam government, assuring necessary help and support, instead appointed Zubeen Garg as the brand ambassador.

The project is being implemented keeping in mind the state agricultural ministry's new motto, "Potharo Amaar, Bojaaro Aamaar” (The field and the market are both ours).

"We want to do this on a bigger scale for the entire state. The youths of Assam wish to be independent after the coronavirus crisis and we wish to support them and move towards economic independence," said Zubeen Garg.
