Assam Govt Provides Aid Worth Rs 15.84 Lakh to 21 People Stranded Outside India

GUWAHATI: The state government has provided Rs 15,84,870 to 21 people from Assam who have been stranded outside the state in the wake of coronavirus, informed Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press conference on April 4.

Earlier, the Assam government had issued helpline numbers for people of the state stranded in other parts of the country or the globe to get in touch regarding help. 

The govt had offered initial aid of 2000 dollars to all those stranded abroad and also offered to help them with Visa and Passport related queries. 

Additionally, they had asked Assam Bhawans across the country to provide assistance to the residents of the state stranded outside.
