GUWAHATI: Assam Government has given certain quarantine exemptions for people who are to travel to Assam by flight.
The exemptions are segregated in three categories as follows:
First category: Complete exemption from quarantine
1. Pilots, crews, or anybody directly or indirectly related to operation of flights will not be quarantined, either in home or facility quarantine.
2. If someone comes in the morning and return by evening, such people will not be quarantined. But a mandatory declaration has to be signed mentioning the time of return. If such a passenger fail to return by evening, they will be slammed with criminal charges and might be imprisoned.
3.People coming in government duties ( Centre or state) will not be quarantined, but the parent departments have to keep them in an isolated place and the passengers are not to intermingle with others. All departments have to provide details of such officials prior to their arrival and the lodging facilities will be checked.
Second Category: Exemption from institutional quarantine
1. People who are visiting parents who are hospitalised will only be home quarantined.
2. People visiting for funeral of immediate family members will also be exempted from facility quarantine.
3. People above 75 yrs, pregnant women, people with disability and children below 10 years are exempted from facility quarantine.

Third Category :
1. Foreign returnees who have already completed 14 days of quarantine in other states after reaching India will be exempted from facility quarantine, but have to u servo home quarantine.
2. People who have undergone detailed medical check for COVID-19 in the last 72 hours prior to arrival in Assam, are tested negative and submits the report of same will be exempted from facility quarantine.
