Assam Govt Issues Guidelines for Stranded People Returning to State

GUWAHATI: In a notification signed by the Principal Secretary to Govt of Assam, Samir K Sinha, Assam state government on May 4, issued certain Standard of Operation (SOP) for people belonging to Assam who are stranded in various states and cities of India as all modes of transportation for mass movement are temporarily closed all over India. 

In this scenario, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has come up with fresh orders dated 29th April 2020 for facilitating such movement of stranded people to their home states in a planned manner.

Subsequently, State Level Empowered Committee, COVID-19, Government of Assam constituted a committee to formulate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for bringing Migrant workers, Pilgrims, Tourists, Students and Other persons stranded at different places to the state in a phased manner.
