GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal chaired a cabinet meeting at Janata Bhawan, Guwahati on Monday, July 22 and took multiple decisions in regard to the development and welfare of the people of Assam.
In a landmark decision, the Cabinet consented to the growing and cutting of Agar and Sandalwood (Chandan) trees on non-forest lands.
It is to be mentioned that this decision will promote cultivation of Agar and Chandan in the state. The Cabinet also approved the setting up of an International Trade Centre for Agar in Golaghat.

The Cabinet also approved setting up of an International Trade Centre for Agar in Golaghat.
Among other decisions, the cabinet approved a subsidy of Rs. 2.5 lakhs up to a ceiling of Rs. 20 lakh under Apunar Apun Ghar scheme.
