GUWAHATI: From now, Assam Government employees might face suspension if they are found without permission in some other district than the one they are appointed. The government employees will have to take the permission of the Deputy Commissioner before leaving the district they are posted in. Failing to follow might result in the suspension of the government employee. This was informed by Assam Chief Minister (CM) Himanta Biswa Sarma during his interaction in the Assam Vidhan Sabha.
Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday, March 22, warned the government employees to not leave the district headquarters they are posted without proper permission.
Assam Government employees cannot work in one district and travel to the other on a daily basis said the Chief Minister. They should be staying at their place of work. The Chief Minister stated that he was aware that many employees travel to work from home district to the nearby district where they are posted.
Even if a video of a government employee is found shopping in another district he or she can be suspended. The attitude to stick to home district and travel to the deputed district cannot make one a responsible employee, said the Chief Minister.
