Assam Govt declares 35 days of Official Holidays for State Employees

GUWAHATI: The holiday list for Assam government the calendar year 2019 was presented and approved during a cabinet meeting.

As per the holiday list published on 18 December, there are altogether 35 holidays in 2019 and two days of half holiday.

It is to be mentioned that apart from the 35 official holidays, there are 25 restricted holidays for the year 2019. All these holidays are apart from the already existing mandatory second and fourth Saturdays, making it a total of 24 such holidays.

The complete list of holidays is as follows:

February 19 – Bir Chilarai Divas

May 18 – Buddha Purnima
May 19 – Madhabdev’s Janmatsov
June 5 – Id-ul-fitre
August 12 – Id-uz-zoha
August 15 – Independence Day
August 20 – Tithi of Madhabdev
