GUWAHATI: The District Administration has banned excavation of land and extraction/blasting of stone within Kamrup Metropolitan District in light of the present monsoon season because of possibilities of landslides and for greater public interest.

It should be noted that even if permissions were accorded earlier for execution of various Central & State Government Projects as well as individuals, excavation and extraction of land is still not permitted until further order by the District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup Metropolitan District, Biswajit Pegu, IAS.
