Assam Govt Allows Private Schools to Continue Classes in Online Mode

GUWAHATI: Educational institutes across Assam will reopen from November 2 onwards, stated education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press conference on October 17.

However, the Assam government has ensured flexibility for the reopening of schools with the option of both online and offline classes.

State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also revealed that private schools will have the option to continue with the online mode.

"There is also an option to not open school if they want to continue with the online mode," Sarma said, adding that there will only be 20-25 students allowed inside the classroom.

While addressing reporters, Sarma added that the SOPs for resuming classes for students, barring the primary level, would be in sync with the established COVID protocols.
