GUWAHATI: The Assam government has prohibited the mobile internet/ mobile data/ mobile Wi-fi service of all mobile service providers in the entire state from 10.00 AM to 1.30 PM on Sunday, September 15 in view of the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) for Class III posts.
The exam will be held from 10.30 AM to 1.30 PM.

A notification in this regard was issued by Ajay Tewari, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam, Home & Political Department.
While mobile internet services will be unavailable, broadband services via fixed-line connections and voice calls will remain operational.
The Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) will oversee the examination across 2,305 centres in 28 districts, where over 11.23 lakh candidates are expected to participate.
The decision to suspend mobile internet, data, and Wi-Fi services has been taken to prevent potential misuse of social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, and Telegram by way of adopting unfair means.
While mobile internet services will be unavailable, broadband services via fixed-line connections and voice calls will remain operational.
The notification warned that violation of this directive will lead to penalties under Section 223 of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, 2023.
