GUWAHATI: The Assam Government has revealed plans to reorganise the administrative units of the Irrigation Department, which include Circles, Divisions, and Sub-Divisions.
This restructuring, excluding the Sixth Schedule Areas, will be in alignment with the delimitation of Legislative Assembly Constituencies conducted by the Election Commission of India.
The official announcement was made during a press conference following a cabinet meeting held in Guwahati on Tuesday.
This move is expected to bring greater cohesion and efficiency to the department's operations, ensuring a more seamless management of water resources and irrigation infrastructure across Assam.
