GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) of Assam apprehended a revenue official involved in a bribery case in Lakhimpur as per reports on Saturday.
In a recent operation, DVAC officers caught Dulal Ch. Baniya, Lat Mandal of Narayanpur Revenue Circle, Lakhimpur, red-handed at his residence in Dhalpur.
The operation, conducted by the DVAC team, resulted in the immediate capture of Dulal Ch. Baniya as he accepted a bribe. The bribe was allegedly solicited in exchange for expediting the mutation works of a complainant.
DVAC took to Twitter to put out, “Today @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped red handed Dulal Ch. Baniya, Lot Mandal of Narayanpur Revenue Circle, Lakhimpur, in his home at Dhalpur immediately after he accepted bribe for processing mutation works of the complainant.”
