GUWAHATI: The Government of Assam, through the Transport Department, has announced promotions for three officials, aiming to enhance efficiency and bolster public service in the state.
The promotions are in line with the Assam Transport Service Rules, 2003 (as amended).

Gautam Das and Bhaskarjyoti Dutta, both serving as Assistant Commissioners of Transport in the office of the Commissioner of Transport, Assam, have been elevated to the role of Deputy Commissioners of Transport.
Additionally, Tamsin Aftab, holding the position of District Transport Officer in the office of DTO & Secretary RTA, Kamrup (M), has been promoted to officiate as Assistant Commissioner of Transport.

The promoted officials will operate within the pay band 4, with a salary ranging from ₹30,000 to ₹1,10,000 per month. Additionally, they will receive a Grade Pay of ₹14,500/- per month for the Deputy Commissioners of Transport and ₹13,900/- per month for the Assistant Commissioner of Transport, along with other admissible allowances.
