Assam Girl Secures National Spot At Children's Science Congress

 

GUWAHATI: Umama Mohsina, an eighth-grade student from the Progressive School of Badarpur, has emerged as a standout participant at the 31st National Children's Science Congress held at Haflong.

Mohsina’s research on the "Impact of Municipal Solid Waste Dump on Groundwater and Environment in Silchar" not only garnered accolades at the state level but has also secured her a coveted spot in the upcoming national meet scheduled in Kanpur from January 27 to 31, 2024, as per reports.

Mohsina reportedly dedicated over three months to her research, displaying a profound understanding of environmental issues, particularly the consequences of municipal waste on groundwater and the overall ecosystem in Silchar.
