GUWAHATI: A girl from Silchar, Assam reportedly went missing while visiting a temple near her home last Diwali. Assam DGP GP Singh in this regard took to Twitter on June 21 in the official missing post and stated that the case has been handed over to the CID.
The missing is stated to be one Nilima Singha a resident of Silchar. Nilima’s sister Anuradha Singha while talking to G Plus stated, “This happened during Diwali, 2022. She had gone to visit a temple about 3 km from our home, after which she did not return. We tried calling her phone, it rang but no one picked up. We then lodged an FIR at the nearby police station. I tried reaching DGP GP Singh multiple times even through the SP, after which he responded to my tweet which I put up. Yesterday it was informed that the case has been handed over to the CID.”
Assam DGP, GP Singh replying to Anuradha Singha’s Twitter post replied saying, “Since the district police have not been able to trace her despite best efforts, it has been decided to transfer the investigation to @AssamCid”.
Amrit Bhuyan, a senior official at CID while speaking to G Plus said, “We have received the case and we are monitoring it closely along with the local authorities.”
