Assam girl becomes the only Indian girl in CXC Summit at Philippines

20 year old Olivia Deka from Tezpur, Assam, has recently become the only girl from India to attend the prestigious ChangemakerXchange (CXC) Summit held at Philippines.

Olivia is the Co-Founder and Director of Finderbridge Tourism, a socio progressive start-up based in Assam.

Speaking to GPlus about the initiative, Olivia said, "People across the nation have quite a mixed opinion about the culture and heritage of the region. We believe Tourism could be a lucrative way to see the beauty of Northeast. We deal with innovative and new measures to remove certain barriers that discriminates Northeast from the rest of the country."

The ChangemakerXchange is a global collaborative community and series of retreats for young social innovators, co-created by Ashoka and the Robert Bosch Stiftung. It provides social innovators from around the world with the chance to come together in person, learn from each other, refine existing ideas and start collaborations.

The community has now become >250 people following summits around the world. Together these Changemakers have developed over 50 cross border collaborations reaching many thousands of people.

An ecstatic Olivia, while sharing about the feat, said, "I am happy to be part of this innovative change. Being a part of the drive has let me know the influence that youth could make to the people of the nation. I am currently the only girl from India who had the opportunity to be a part of CXC Summit."
