Assam: Forest Guard Dead after Rhino Attack

GUWAHATI: A forest guard was declared dead in the Kaziranga National Park (KNP) on Wednesday, February 17. 


The forest guard has been identified as Tipusaran Sahu, 51. The forest guard, posted at Kaziranga Range near Bokabeel Anti Poaching Camp, was attacked by a female Rhino with a calf at 5:30 PM while performing evening patrolling.


Sahu was declared dead by the doctor of Kohora Model Hospital.


This is the second death of an official in the same month. Earlier, on February 1, Moheswar Hazarika, a Game watcher under Agoratoli Range was attacked by a rhino while discharging night duty at Siga highland. As per reports, he succumbed on the spot and was declared brought dead.
