GUWAHATI: The flood situation in Assam remains stern with Dhemaji being the worst affected as of a report on Thursday by ASDMA.
The report states that the Brahmaputra is still flowing above the danger level at Dhubri, Tezpur and Neamtighat. Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, and Sivasagar are the worst affected districts with a total of 48 villages affected.
A total of 11, 822 people are affected in six revenue circles of four districts including Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, and Sivasagar, as stated in the ASDMA report.
The worst affected district currently is Dhemaji with 750 people still afflicted by flood waters, followed by Dibrugarh with a total of 182 affected.
A total of 2047 hectares of cropland have been affected in the four districts as per the official report.
The report also states the setup of four relief and relief distribution camps in the affected districts.
