Assam Flood 2020: Death Toll rises to 110

GUWAHATI: The death toll due to the floods in Assam has risen to 110 while more than 56 lakh people have been affected by the deluge so far, according to the latest data released by Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).

As per the data of the ASDMA, a total of 56,89,584 people have been affected by the floods across 30 districts this year.

The flood situation in Assam is deteriorating with the death toll increasing due to natural calamity in various districts.

As on August 12, 81 villages of the state are reeling under flood, with 14,205 persons currently affected.

Dhemaji is the worst-hit district with more than 12,908 people suffering, followed by Baksa which accounts for 1,000 affected persons and Morigaon district with over 297 affected people.

Further, 26 persons have died in the state due to landslides. 

Around 7,000 houses have been fully damaged and 32,725 have been partially damaged by Assam floods.
