GUWAHATI: Acting on a tip-off, Mangaldai police on Friday, September 6 arrested a female school teacher along with her husband in Baaghpari area of Mangaldoi for allegedly being involved in drug peddling.

The accused have been identified as Konmai Devi Deka, a teacher at Bandiya LP School and Jibesh Deka, her husband.
According to reports, Mangaldai police raided Deka’s house after receiving a tip-off about drugs being stored in their residence and recovered four containers containing suspected brown sugar from their possession.
A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, has been registered at the Mangaldai Police Station.
