Assam Expands Child Care Leave Rules For Single Male Employees

 

GUWAHATI: The Assam cabinet has approved an amendment to Child Care Leave (CCL) rules, allowing single male government employees, including widowers and divorcees, to avail child care leave for up to two children.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced this following the state cabinet meeting held on Thursday, March 27.

As per the amendment, eligible employees will now be able to take CCL for a maximum of two years (730 days). Additionally, government employees who have custody of disabled children will also benefit from the revised policy.

In the same meeting, the cabinet also approved several key decisions, including tax relief for the tea industry, expansion of reserve forest areas, and restructuring of health blocks.
