Assam: Ex-gratia of Rs. 20 Lakh to martyred armed forces & paramilitary personnel

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal chaired a Cabinet meeting at Janata Bhawan, Guwahati on Monday, June 3.   

The Cabinet decided to give policy form to provide ex-gratia of Rs. 20 Lakh to armed forces & paramilitary personnel from Assam martyred outside the State.  

The Cabinet also decided to reduce the minimum age for the appointment of Gaon Burhas from 35 to 25 years. Further, any person having more than 2 children will not be eligible to apply for the post of Gaon Burha.

The Cabinet approved provision for eviction of encroachers from Satra land in the Assam Land & Revenue Regulation, 1886. 

The Cabinet also decided to introduce an Act to regulate placement agencies to check human trafficking.

The Cabinet decided to increase authorized capital of APDCL from Rs. 250 Crore to Rs. 5,000 Crore. 

In another decision, the Cabinet approved career progression of State Government employees.

The Cabinet increased the honorarium of Autonomous Council Members from Rs. 5,000 to Rs.25,000 & of CEMs from Rs.16,000 to Rs.45,000.
