GUWAHATI: Former Assam education minister Thaneswar Boro, passed away on May 17 at 7:08 AM in Gauhati Medical College And Hospital (GMCH).

Thaneswar was initially kept at the Swasti Hospital in Rangia and later at GMCH, where he passed away post a cardiac arrest. The former Minister of the Assam government, who died on Friday morning, left behind his only daughter at the time of his death.
Boro died while undergoing treatment at The Gauhati Medical College Hospital. It is to be noted that the mortal remains of Boro will be taken to the AGP office in Ambari.

It may be recalled that Boro had held important duties like education minister twice in addition to the revenue minister of the Government of Assam. Thaneshwar Boro also held the post of MLA of Rangia continuously from 1985 to 2001.
