GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday, March 14, announced a plan for the development of historical sites associated with the saint and social reformer Srimanta Sankardev.

The Chief Minister inaugurated several beautification and development projects at Sri Sri Patbausi Satra, including the Srimanta Sankardev Museum at Sri Sri Sankardev Than. These projects seek to provide a deeper insight into the life and teachings of Srimanta Sankardev, attracting scholars, devotees, and tourists alike.
Additionally, Sarma laid the foundation for the infrastructure development of Chunpara Vithi Than, a historical site where Srimanta Sankardev spent a year in 1544. With a total investment of ₹7.32 crore, the development projects are designed to not only preserve Assam’s rich spiritual and historical legacy but also provide better amenities for pilgrims visiting Barpeta Satra.
