Assam Elections 2021: Voters to be Provided with Hand Gloves, Soap, Water at Polling Stations

GUWAHATI: The Election commission is all set to follow necessary precautionary measures during the upcoming Assembly Elections in Assam due on April 6 this year. Nitin Khare, who headed a press conference on February 27 at the Assam Secretariat, highlighted the measures to be taken while conducting the Assembly Polls.


Apart from health staff checking temperatures of the eligible voters on the poll day, the participants will also be provided with one-time-use hand gloves to cast vote with an aim to ensure safety during elections amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.


Nitin Khare also said that water and soap will be facilitated at the polling stations for eligible voters. He said, “Social distance will be observed at the polling booths as participants will have to stand at least 6 feet apart. A total of 2029 grounds have been selected in 50 election districts of Assam for political activities.”
