GUWAHATI: A massive quantity of drugs estimated to be worth ₹115 Crores was seized at Karimganj Bypass Puwamara under the Karimganj Police Station on Friday, August 9, in a joint operation by The Special Task Force (STF) and Karimganj Police.
The raid conducted around 3:30 PM was led by Inspector General Parthasarathi Mahanta and Superintendent of Police Partha Protim Das.
The raid resulted in the seizure of 3,50,000 Yaba tablets and 1.3 kilograms of heroin, packed in 100 soap cases. The drugs were concealed inside secret compartments of a 12-wheeler.
Additionally, four individuals were apprehended in connection with the case namely, Noimul Haque, Fuzail Ahmed, Atiqur Rahman, also known as Atik (the driver), and Jagajit Deb Barma.
