Assam: Diphu and Lakhimpur medical colleges to be functional from this year

GUWAHATI: Assam minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on June 19 announced that two more medical colleges will be functional from this year in Diphu and Lakhimpur. Both the hospitals will have 500 beds.

Sarma also said that a total of 18 new cancer hospitals will be established in the state.

Currently, six medical colleges are functioning in Assam - Gauhati Medical College, Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh, Silchar Medical College, Jorhat Medical College, Tezpur Medical College and Barpeta Medical College.
