GUWAHATI: A 40-year-old man, Prasanta Bordoloi, from Bhurbandha in Satobari, has been detained by the Basistha Police Station for allegedly impersonating a CBI officer on Tuesday, November 12. Bordoloi allegedly posed as a Superintendent of Police from the CBI and used a fake identity card to deceive several individuals into giving him money.

During their inquiry, police discovered that Bordoloi had fraudulently collected funds from multiple people by showing them his forged CBI credentials.
Speaking to G Plus, an official from Basistha Police Station confirmed the arrest: “A man posing as a CBI officer was apprehended. He allegedly fooled several people by showing his ID and collected money from them.”
Police have seized two mobile phones and the fake ID cards used by the suspect.
Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
