GUWAHATI: Dibrugarh University, following the recent resolution passed in the 354th Executive Council meeting held on July 28, 2023, has announced the appointment of Diganta Biswa Sarma as a Professor of Practice.
However, this was announced in a notice issued on Monday, August 21.
It may be noted that Diganta Biswa Sarma is a noted and well-known author and translator in Assam.
In his new role, Sarma will hold the position of Professor of Practice for an initial duration of one year, or until further notice, commencing from the date of his joining.
Sarma's responsibilities will encompass educating and acquainting students with Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), motivating them to engage with the rich cultural values and heritage of the country, and imparting traditional wisdom across various academic courses.
