GUWAHATI: A car driver from Puronigudam Goromur, Nagaon was found dead on March 6. The 46-year-old Nabajyoti Gayan was missing since March 5.
He has been estimated to be kidnapped from Solsoli. The body, cut into pieces, was recovered from Bokajan, Karbi Anglong on March 6. As per sources, he was fraudulently taken to Karbi Anglong instead of Jorhat.
The family has alleged murder by miscreants involved in the Dimapur side. An FIR has been lodged at the Puronigudam Police Station (PS) following the matter.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) Birla Goyari of the Puronigudam PS informed G Plus that an investigation regarding the matter has begun. As per the official, Nabajyoti might have been caught in a modus operandi of car thieves who steal their cars and sell them in Nagaland. The police are now looking at the technical details of the case.
Meanwhile, Nabajyoti’s death has caused a severe blow to the family's finances along with emotional turmoil. Nabajyoti is survived by his daughter who is a class 8 student and his wife who has a small beauty parlour in Nagaon.
The family is now struggling with finances and has appealed to the Assam Government to intervene in the matter.
"We only urge the government to look into the health and education of the daughter," a family member told G Plus.
