GUWAHATI: A dance troupe from Assam was rescued in Bihar after an altercation ensued between the dance troupe members and the organisers.

There were a total of 11 members including nine girls and two boys who had to be rescued by Bihar police from Chhapra.

The Guwahati commissioner of police Deepak Kumar informed the media on August 6 that a team of Guwahati police has gone to Bihar to bring the dancers back to Assam.

He added that the dance troupe was asked to perform on Bhojpuri songs by the organisers which they refused. Following this an argument broke out between the dance troupe members and the organisers.

The dancers were left stranded in Bihar for three days before the Chhapra police rescued them and then contacted Guwahati police.
