GUWAHATI: With the current round of new office-bearers in Board of Cricket Council of India (BCCI), speculation was raised of Assam Cricket Association Secretary, Devajit Lon Saikia of joining the BCCI.

Clearing the doubts, Saikia on his social media page mentioned that, "Let me set the record clear....I have no intention to join BCCI now ... will serve Assam cricket for some time to finish several uncompleted tasks in our State before expanding the horizon."

It is to be mentioned that in the informal meeting held in Mumbai on October 13, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President Sourav Ganguly is the front runner for the post of BCCI president.

On the other hand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah's son Jay Shah will be the new secretary while Arun Dhumal will be the new treasurer. Dhumal is the younger brother of MoS Finance and former BCCI president Anurag Thakur.

The last date to file nomination is today i.e, October 14.
