GUWAHATI: With the death of four more Covid-19 positive patients in the state, the death toll of Assam has increased to 20.
Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has reported the death of the four patients on 8th July.

The minister tweeted, "Very sad & anguished to inform that four more COVID19 positive patients have succumbed to the disease.
The decreased are Safikul Rahman (60 yrs) of Hidayatpur Guwahati, Romoni Mazumder (60 yrs) of Patacharkuchi Barpeta, Utpal Kumar Chaliha (75 yrs) of Kahilipara Dispur, and Hari Prasad Mandal, (68 yrs) of Lalganesh Guwahati.
All were admitted in GMCH Covid ICU, and they succumbed to their critical infections between 2 am to 5 am of 8th July. The patients were on invasive ventilation, had severe pneumonia, urosepsis and septic shock."
