GUWAHATI: With 1,471 more COVID-19 patients being discharged from different hospitals and COVID care centres in the state, Assam now stands with 14,429 active cases as on August 6.

Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “2284 COVID cases detected out of 59162 tests in the last 24 hrs. Glad that our positivity rate is just 3.86%! Kamrup (M)- 362, Dibrugarh- 177, Nagaon- 157, Kamrup (R)- 123."

Meanwhile, Assam has been able to maintain a low positivity rate consistently with the latest being 3.86% on August 6.
