Assam Congress suspends Gautam Roy, Ramen Borthakur

GUWAHATI: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has suspended former minister from the party Gautam Roy and general secretary Ramen Borthakur.

As per reports, both the leaders were expelled for their ‘anti-party’ activities.

The decision to expel them from the party was taken at a executive meeting of the party on Saturday, June 15.

It should be mentioned that Gautam Roy, a veteran leader from Barak Valley, was seen distributing sweets after BJP candidate won from Karimganj Lok Sabha seat.

Ramen Borthakur had reportedly given interviews against APCC president Ripun Bora.

In addition, APCC has decided to take action against former MP Dwijen Sharma, youth leader of the party Partha Pratim Bora for allegedly breaking the laws of the party.
