GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to update him about the current status of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) list in a meeting. He also asked for additional central forces before the publication of the final list on August 31.
The meeting happened after the Supreme Court ordered that the list of those excluded from the final NRC be published online only.

It should be noted that a few days ago, the Supreme court also disapproved the central and state government’s plea for sample re-verification to find wrongful inclusions of names in the list.
