GUWAHATI: Assam is gearing up to become India’s next hub for Industry 4.0, with discussions underway between the state government and major corporate leaders. The chief minister met with Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Anant Ambani on Saturday, February 8 to explore potential collaborations with the state.

The meeting focused on growth and innovation emphasising on positioning Assam as a key player in the country’s evolving industrial revolution.
Sarma took to X, shared insight of the meeting, saying, “Had a great meeting with Shri Mukeshbhai Ambani and Shri Anant Ambani yesterday , and I truly appreciate their time. We had an in-depth discussion on positioning Assam as India’s next hub for Industry 4.0 and explored ways in which Reliance can collaborate with us on this transformative journey.”

The chief minister met leading industrialists in Mumbai to invite them to the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit on Saturday, February 8. Discussions with JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal highlighted Assam’s potential in infrastructure and energy sectors. Investment opportunities in floating solar, bio-CNG, green hydrogen, and ATJ fuel were key topics.
Meetings were also held with Welspun World Chairman BK Goenka to explore collaboration in textiles, energy, water treatment, and infrastructure. The chief minister extended an invitation to Goenka for the summit, reaffirming Assam's commitment to fostering a favourable business environment.
Additionally, discussions with Essar Group Vice Chairman Ravi Ruia focused on partnerships for manufacturing electric trucks in Assam and developing renewable energy projects. Ruia was also invited to the summit.
Earlier, on February 7, the chief minister met with Tata Sons and Tata Group Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran at his Prithviraj Road residence in New Delhi, further strengthening Assam’s industrial outreach.
