Assam Climbers Travel to Himachal Pradesh for Pre Everest Expedition

GUWAHATI: A 16-member Assam Mountaineering Association (AMA) team has left for the Pre Everest Expedition at an unnamed peak (6111 mt) situated at Chandrabhaga Range in Himachal Pradesh. 

The expedition is a part of the preparation for the Mission Everest 2020, which is being sponsored by the Government of Assam.

The 20-day expedition began on September 1, 2019.

The team is led by Upen Chakraborty. Other members include Manash Barooah, Pulak Mahanta, Kishore Kumar Baruah, Ratan Basumatary, Ashok Kumar Jhuria, Dr. David Hazarika, Bhaskar Baruah, Parag Kumar Das, Uddipon Kashyap, Kaushik Das, Shekhar Bordoloi, Dhruba Hazarika, Riju Handique, Krishna Basumatary and Sudip Kumar Deka. 

Chandrabhaga Range is situated in the picturesque Lahaul-Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh.
