GUWAHATI: The Assam cabinet has approved the drafting of the Guwahati Central Area Local Area Plan (LAP). This plan is set to focus on redevelopment and upgrade infrastructure for the Guwahati Metropolitan Area.
The proposed LAP has a two-fold objective: firstly, to enhance existing infrastructure facilities and open spaces, and secondly, to improve connectivity to every plot within the area.
By doing so, the plan aims to optimise the utilisation of urban land, creating a more efficient and vibrant urban landscape in Guwahati.
The draft LAP is now ready for public scrutiny, as authorities invite objections and suggestions from the residents. This inclusive approach ensures that the community has a say in the future development of the city.
Key features of the proposed LAP include provisions for better amenities, upgraded public spaces, and improved connectivity, all aimed at elevating the overall living standards in the Guwahati Metropolitan Area.
