GUWAHATI: The Assam government has approved the Assam Private Placement Agencies for Recruitment of Workers’ (Regulations) Rules, 2024 to ensure safety and security of workers under private placement agencies.

The approval came in a Cabinet meeting held on Thursday, June 27 in Nalbari. Under this, the private placement agencies can be registered under the Labour Welfare department, which will allow the state government to regulate them.
The rules will help in maintaining a database of both workers and private placement agencies of the state, thus allowing verification of operational status and existential authenticity of the agencies.
