GUWAHATI: The Assam Book Fair organised by the Publication Board, Assam and the All Assam Publishers and Booksellers Association, commenced its literary journey on December 29 and concluded on January 9. The event reported book sales reaching an impressive figure of approximately ₹10.5 crore, encompassing both retail and wholesale transactions.
Expressing his satisfaction, Assam Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, conveyed his appreciation for the organisers who played a pivotal role in making the Book Fair a resounding success. He extended his gratitude to the publishing houses, bookstores, and the enthusiastic attendees whose collective efforts contributed to the memorable achievement.
Taking to X, Minister Pegu stated, “The Assam Book Fair, organised by the Publication Board, Assam and the All Assam Book Publishers and Booksellers Association, started on December 29 in Chandmari and concluded successfully today. I am pleased to announce that the Book Fair recorded book sales of around Rs. 10.5 crore including retail and wholesale sales and I would like to thank the organisers for making the event a success. I would like to thank all the publishing houses, bookstores and people who came to the Assam Book Fair, a memorable event in the intellectual field of Assam.”
