Assam BJP to Kick-Start 2021 Poll Campaigns on PM Modi’s Birthday

With the opposition and various new upcoming parties in Assam mulling to form a grand alliance against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the saffron party leadership has vowed to promote the progress made by its government in the last four and a half years in Assam.

Accordingly, the state BJP has chalked out a plan to kickstart their massive campaign for the upcoming 2021 elections and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday will be the date to kick-start the campaigns.

“As Modiji’s birthday is on 17th September, a week-long planning has been done to reach out to the people of the state for informing them about what all the government did in the last 4.5 years,” said a state-level BJP executive member under the condition of anonymity.

The campaign will start from 14th September. On 14th September, through video conferencing, districts level BJP members of 39 districts of the state will connect with intellectuals of the state informing them about various governmental schemes and the progress of the same.

With Modi to turn 70 on 17th September 2020, on 15th September, Swachh Abhiyan will be carried out in 70 villages of Assam.

On 16th September, the youth wing of the party will organize blood donation camps in all the districts; in every district, at least 70 BJP members will donate blood.

Accordingly, on 17th September, tree plantation drives will be carried out in every district and at least 70 saplings will be planted in every district by BJP members.

On 18th September, 70 Covid-19 warriors will be felicitated in every district. On 19th September, 70 free pairs of spectacles will be distributed to the needy in every district.

On 20th September, state BJP leaders will talk to all the party members through video conferencing and thereafter in every district, the booth level party workers will start visiting the households for promoting government work done over the last 4.5 years.

Similarly, Deendayal Upadhaya’s birthday is on 25th September, and the state BJP has again planned a week-long campaign for the upcoming 2021 polls utilizing his birthday.

Various party flag hoisting ceremonies will be seen at booth level between 25th and 30th September where even the chief minister of the state will be hosting party flags at booth level, and district party members will hoist the BJP flag in every household of BJP members in every district. After a week-long voter connecting exercise ends, the party will organize a review meeting on 1st October with all the party members to take stock of all that would happen in the two weeks between 14th September and 30th September.

Sensing a tough electoral battle in the assembly elections with the sealing of Congress-AIUDF alliance and the possible formation of a grand alliance, the top brass of the central leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has gone into a tizzy and has pressed the accelerator to jump into a strategic 100-day election 'bang down' in Assam.

Last week there was a meeting of the party leaders with state BJP executive members and it was instructed by the leaders that only social media campaigns will not work and grassroot level campaigns have to be strategically started.

Soon after the meeting, the party leaders decided to utilize Modi’s and Upadhaya’s birthday to kick-start the campaign.
