GUWAHATI: In a recent move aimed at ensuring a steady and assured power supply during peak seasons, the Assam Cabinet has given its nod to procure Wind Solar Hybrid Power under the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) Tranche-VI Scheme. This strategic decision is set to bolster the state's efforts to secure a consistent power supply, particularly when demand surges.
Under this initiative, a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) will be executed for the procurement of 100 Megawatts (MW) of Wind Solar Hybrid Power. The rates for this procurement will be in line with the offerings provided by the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), facilitating Assam's access to green energy sourced from renewable and sustainable avenues.
This decision will aid in leveraging renewable energy sources to meet its power requirements, especially during peak demand periods. By harnessing Wind Solar Hybrid Power, Assam aims to ensure a reliable and eco-friendly power supply to cater to the needs of its residents.
