Assam Announces Reshuffles In Police Department

 

These changes were notified by the Home and Political Department, under the orders of the Governor

GUWAHATI: The Assam government on Monday, January 20, announced a series of reshuffles in the police department, with several senior officers being assigned new roles in the interest of public service.

These changes were notified by the Home and Political Department, under the orders of the Governor.

V. Siva Prasad Ganjala, IPS (RR-2005), has been repatriated from Central Deputation. He has been posted as Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Central Range, Nagaon, while also being assigned the additional charge of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) for the Hills Range, Diphu. He replaces Devojyoti Mukherjee, IPS, who has been transferred.

Devojyoti Mukherjee, IPS (SPS-2005), has been transferred to Srimantapur, Guwahati. He has been appointed as IGP (Border) with effect from the date of taking over charge, succeeding Prasanta Sagar Changmai, IPS.

Prasanta Sagar Changmai, IPS (SPS-2005), meanwhile, has now been transferred to Tezpur. He assumes the role of IGP (Northern Range), taking over charge from Bijoy Giri Kuligam, IPS.

Finally, Bijoy Giri Kuligam, IPS (SPS-2009), has been posted to Bongaigaon. He will now serve as DIGP (Western Range), filling an existing vacancy.
