GUWAHATI: The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council has introduced few changes in the curriculum of higher secondary Commerce stream.
It has renamed some of the subjects, to be effective from the batch of 2020-21 onwards.
The subject "Banking" is renamed as "Finance" and "Commercial Mathematics and Statistics" has been renamed as "Business Mathematics and Statistics" without any change in the syllabus of the said subjects.

Further, under the new system, the subjects Business Studies and Accountancy are not considered as Core Subjects but the students of Commerce stream must have to appear examination on both the subjects and secure at least passing marks, states the order issued by AHSEC.
For the purpose of result, the marks of the best three elective subjects will now be considered in their division along with the core subjects English and MIL/ALTE.
